What is it?

Gaining Insight
Collecting data on a large scale (hence the BIG) creates a lot of opportunities. For example, knowing exactly what is going on with the energy consumption of a house or the status of crop fields can lead to new insights. Analyzing the data can help you see connections that can be greatly benefited from. These insights can be implemented in a data-driven strategy.
BIG
When we talk about ‘Big Data’, we really mean BIG. This means that the systems we build to collect and analyze data, can include millions of data collecting devices divided over multiple locations. This is more than a single computer can handle and can’t be contained in an Excel file.

Collecting Data
Close to the source
We like to stay as close to the data source as possible. Not only does this reduce the time it takes for the data to reach you and make it safer as fewer devices are involved, it also cuts down on cost. But most importantly, being close to the source means being close to the people. We like to be in touch with the end users of our applications. This helps us to find out what insights someone wants to learn from the data and how we can realize this. Our IT experts love to work together with your domain experts to come up with a solution that works and is scalable.
